Online assessments are in place for you to ascertain your understanding and knowledge of the unit standard concepts. You agree to the following conditions regarding the online assessments:

The learning and preparation for assessments are your responsibility. This can be achieved by reviewing the following:

• Watching the YouTube videos;
• Studying the Learner guides;
• Studying the Summary slides;
• Understanding any additional resources and case studies; and
• Conducting your own research where necessary.

You agree and undertake that the online assessments are your own authentic work and that you are undertaking the assessments without assistance from anyone else. Progress to the next unit standard is reliant on achieving the minimum pass rate, as indicated on the website, for the assessment;

• You are given two attempts to meet achieve the minimum pass rate. Failure to achieve the required pass rate on the second attempt will result in your account being deactivated.
• In the event of your account being deactivated, you may appeal, with a motivation to be reinstated.

On conclusion of the training modules, you are required to submit a business plan as the “Final Summative Assessment” to be marked/assessed by a qualified Assessor.

• Should the assessor find you competent in the Start a Business ™ Skills Programme, you will be eligible for a SETA certificate.
• Should the assessor find you not yet competent, written feedback shall be e mailed to you, so that you can address the shortcomings outlined by the assessor, in preparation for the second and final submission. Failure to achieve competency in the second assessment will lead to your account being deactivated and termination from the training programme.
• You do have the right to appeal the assessment decision.
• Only Learners which have been found competent are eligible to receive a certificate.

After each assessment, feedback will be given you regarding your achievement. Should you have any queries about the assessment process or your achievements, you have the right to appeal.

• Should you appeal be successful, your account will be reinstated and you may commence with the next module.
• Should your appeal be unsuccessful, your account will remain deactivated and further progression will be prevented.

You agree to accept the decision of the Appeals Officer, who’s judgement shall be binding and no further communications will be allowed.

This website offers assistance to you in the form of online mentorship from industry experts. Whilst every effort has been taken to qualify the expertise of the mentors on this website, AT accepts no responsibility for the guidance provided to you by the Mentors.

You agree to use your discretion and judgement when taking the advice of Mentors. The advice offered by Mentors is not that of AT’s and you agree to not hold AT responsible or liable for any advice offered by a Mentor or accepted and implemented by yourself.

You agree that any posts to the mentorship “chat-line” shall be relevant to the content and relate to topics contained within the website.

You further agree that it is not the responsibility of any Mentor or AT to respond to any requests for mentorship questions posted by you.

AT may, but is under no obligation to, monitor, edit or remove content that we determine in our sole discretion to be unlawful, offensive, threatening, libelous, defamatory, pornographic, obscene or otherwise objectionable or violates any party’s intellectual property or these Terms of Service. At its sole discretion, AT may deactivate a user which AT feels is behaving in any of these ways.

You agree that your comments will not violate any right of any third-party, including copyright, trademark, privacy, personality or other personal or proprietary right. You further agree that your comments will not contain libelous or otherwise unlawful, abusive or obscene material, or contain any computer virus or other malware that could in any way affect the operation of the Service or any related website.

You may not use a false e-mail address, pretend to be someone other than yourself, or otherwise mislead AT or third-parties as to the origin of any comments. You are solely responsible for any comments you make and their accuracy. AT takes no responsibility and assumes no liability for any comments posted by you or any third-party.

The Start a Business ™ skills programme offered on the website shall be subject to the quality policies of SERVICE SETA. AT accepts no responsibility for the policies SERVICE SETA will implement during external moderations.

AT shall conduct internal moderations and abide by the sample methodology outlined by SERVICE SETA which may change from time to time. Should the internal moderation be upheld, AT will at that point request SERVICE SETA to conduct an external moderation. Should SERVICE SETA’s external moderation be upheld, competent Learners will be eligible for certification.

You agree that AT shall not be held responsible for any delays it may take for SERVICE SETA to undertake external moderations and certifying Learners.

Occasionally there may be information on our site or in the Service that contains typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions. We reserve the right to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions, and to change or update information or cancel orders if any information in the Service or on any related website is inaccurate at any time without prior notice.
